Description

The effectiveness of STEM education is often questioned despite the Hong Kong Education Bureau has actively promoted STEM education. In light of this, the STEMP Maker education is proposed which is a revolutionary transformation of the STEM education framework. It integrates product design (P) on the basis of STEM education which aims to improve students’ STEM learning outcome and motivation. As to implement the proposed pedagogy, OPRO is designed. It features an extendable car foundation and a worksheet set to provide a level-based hands-on learning experience for students to create their OPRO design that has both appearance and function. Besides, an all-in-one online service platform is designed for students to gain STEMP Maker knowledge. Therefore, OPRO provides a new creative learning experience that enhances students’ STEM learning outcome and effectiveness which achieve all-dimensional learning. Most importantly, it increases students' interest in STEM and product design fields.
