Description

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common neurodevelopmental condition, which is usually first diagnosed in childhood and often lasts into adulthood. ADHD children are always hyperactive; they are easily inattention; they don’t always obey the rules. Under this competitive society, children are pushed to learn many things, while they should have more opportunities to explore their interests without any pressure freely.

Thus, how to let children explore their interests freely and naturally?

OCTAPS is an inclusive musical toy for ADHD preschool children ( 4- 6 years old). It aims to provide children a novel experience to release their energy, allowing them to explore their talents in music and supporting free play.

OCTAPS means tapping the eight keys, representing the eight musical notes on a full music scale. Unlike other musical toys, OCTAPS provides a modular-based design allowing children to create their tangible instrument interface. It consists of two parts: 1) Triangle module 2) Base Stool. Triangle modules represent the key of this musical toy; the stool provides wireless charging and choosing the modes for playing. Children can learn to play a song based on guiding or selecting different instrument sounds to create their music.
