Description

Since last year the pandemic situation affected our daily activities and habits which had to adjust spatially as people increasingly worked from home. Our working space became our living space and vice versa. The idea of the constant changing of boundary between working and living inspired me to speculate about the necessity of ‘brick and mortar’ spaces built in the future. Thus, I investigated the spatial formation of the living and working enclosures, their intersection, and the superimposition of them by observing and re-cording our daily routines and activities. Through the scale adjustment of these spaces based on the time of occupancy, I explored the possible extension and decreasing dimensions of their boundaries and volumes. Based on a narrative to illustrate the co-existence and transformation between the living and working space in the future, the aim of the project is to design spatial configurations which reimagining the idea of the so called live-work space.
