Description

Based on the research of climate passive design in first semester, this permanent storage is in Hong Kong Bishop Hill, a historical water reservoir, which underground can fulfill the need of climate-controlled storage, with around 55.0 F and 70% humidity, which is a natural advantage for storing goods like artworks and historical documents. Air conditioners cannot control the entire thermal comfort for the goods, that’s also what my topic - Construction in the Post-Technological world means to me. Without high-tech, can we still live a good living in underground space and protect the history of our home? This project is an extension (digging underground) based on the historical site(Hardware), re-embrace the Romanesque structure, arches, and columns. Then, trying to challenge the “Storage”(Software) itself, like how space shifting from storage to display quickly? So, everyone becomes accessible to this time machine.
