Description

"The Resort at the End of the Universe” is a narrative project that is inspired by the novel, The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (Douglas Adams, 1979). The story follows the expedition of two individuals who travel through space whist trying to discover the Ultimate Question of Life. This project is an abstraction of the original story, and it proposes an alternative guide based upon the different typologies of hotel rooms, utilizing a narrative of space exploration. The project explores the transformation of spaces to reimagine what a potential hotel interior may look like as part of a travelers experience through the galaxy. This project has investigated the different methodologies of drawing through varying perspectives and forms in order to create an outer worldly spatial experience. Utilizing only line drawings on AutoCAD, this project has explored a variety of perspectives to study how 2D lines can be transformed into 3D spaces.
