Learning from the Street People

This project works with the street people (from an alley near Ho Kwan Building in Jordan Road), who appear to be some homeless strangers to the surrounding community.

The original aim of this project was to reduce the public discrimination against them; after months of fieldwork and participatory research, however, it is discovered that there is so much to study and listen, before a social designer can design anything for the street people. It takes a long time for this project to realise this
inconvenient truth.

The present project attempts to exploit this apparent design failure to visualise what has been heard from these street people: their community, habits, lifestyle, interaction and stories.

This design project is not about helping others, not even observing others, but learning from others.
