Description

Propeller Island: An Environment of Mechanical Mechanism Inspired by Jules Verne’s ,Propeller Island’, the project is exploring the spatial experience of a space in constant motion. Following the investigation of adjustable fabric formwork for plaster, boundaries of mobility and the extent of transformation were tested through mechanical adjustments of the formwork model. Thus, exploring various mechanisms affecting the spatial change of the formwork created a toolset of automated performances. Propeller Island is a man-made island constructed as a machine but filled with human ambition for the future city. It aims to narrate a sense of spatial dynamics which is encountered by the user.
