Description

This design project aims to propose a world of amorphic spaces situated in the building gaps on top of the alleyways throughout Hong Kong’s cityscape. The concept of ,squeezing out’ irregular spaces from in-between the buildings, generating bubble-like forms of enclosures, establishes a method to occupy the alleyway and provides new spatial experiences. Thus, the shape of structures react to the existing urban fabric in which they are integrated within through the process of space making, creating various formal languages in relation to their environmental setting. A membrane material is used providing the ability to transform and adapt creating a cocoon like structure to support and embrace the user.
