Description

This project reveals and exagerrates the core values of squatter-villages through a reimagined narrative. The chosen site- Cha Kwo Ling Village is one of the last three remaining squatter villages in Hong Kong. It was a phenomenon in 1960s of Hong Kong where there was an influx of mainland refugees, building their own livelihood out of scratch like a bricoleur. While celebrating the bricolage attitude, it also advocates for the villagers who face the fate of demolition, calling for a reflection on the value of squatter-village, and the autonomy of the people and social oppression.
