Description

During the pandemic, the dwelling is playing a pivotal role in this global crisis. Lockdown or quarantine measurements have confined people physically in their homes. We attempt to experience our entire day-worth of demands interiorly. For instance, meeting, working, exercising that occupy a certain space in the domestic environment. Balconies and roofs are reimagined as new alternatives to occupy and use instead of city plazas or parks. At present, we are experiencing life in the city within our dwelling, bringing the out-side into the inside. Thus, this new spatial transition forms an expansion from inside out, which breaks with the idea of a “physical boundary” between exterior and interior spaces. The project speculates about spatial expansion which transforms our city into an endless and continuous interiority – created from the inside turning the outside inwards. The city is converted through our different way of inhabitation creating another dimension of city life.
