Description

Hongkongers being the fifth most stressed population worldwide. From a survey by the US health insurer Cigna, a total of 95 percent of adults ages between 18 to 34 reported stress, with 26 percent saying they cannot manage or handle the stress. These young adults face work-related stress since they work for very long hours for a comparatively low salary. In addition, the high financial burden and property price also contribute to the pressure on these young adults. Based on Cedric Price’s Fun Palace, The Palace of Escape is an ever-changing adult-exclusive overnight recreational and leisure complex inside the Kwai Chung Container Terminal. It would provide the satisfaction of escape and release to visitors from their fast pace, stressful, lifeless daytime living.
