Description

Design-seeking for material abundance fell into the process of production - consumption - and disposal. The consequences of our rabid consumption are borne out in the planet’s ecosystem, inevitably leading to the disposal of a linear ecology. There is an urgent need for transformation from our current unsustainable trajectory to sustainable action.

Doomsday Odyssey is a personalized low-carbon lifestyle reward app for Korean Generation Z linking with enterprises. The app transfers the user’s daily, weekly, and monthly consumption into carbon footprints portraying one’s relentless desire for consumption and easing the materialistic urges. It automates the user’s consumption habits and visualizes them into a carbon footprint. This incentivizes sustainability by providing point-based rewards to the users for their reduction in consumption while having the self-realization of one’s consumption impact, maintaining a sense of continuity across time and space.
