Food Saviours

Improve people's purchasing habits and attitudes toward soon-to-expire food through education and practice

In our research, we discovered that customers prefer to buy foods that will expire later. Even if a retailer prominently displays expired items on the shelf, most individuals have a negative attitude about them. Expired food frequently causes a slew of socioeconomic issues, including food waste and landfill saturation. In terms of practice, we redesigned a save food cart for the community and interact with residents on a regular basis. We believe that by holding this event, citizens will be more conscious of the food that is soon to expire. This event aims to collect the expired soon food that people have accumulated at home. To provide a platform where citizens can freely exchange or place the expired soon food. Hoped that by participating in this activity, the purpose of community sharing would be met, and the value of food will be preserved.

Meet in the FIELD 約在田裏

This is a story about my father's field

As part of the government’s vision for establishing a new town in Yuen Long, Hung Shui Kiu has been chosen as the site. Yet, HSK will cease to exist in its current form, with its rich history lost. The land becomes concrete and wipes out cultivated land. My family have been here for 40 years, so I hope to preserve this history by developing a new homestead farming form and raising awareness of homestead farming in Hong Kong. “Meet in the FIELD” project activities will result in some changes in this field through observation, feeling, learning, and practice. Inviting and meeting people in this field with some memorable experiences is kept alive by sharing farming patterns in the area with people. Changing the fate of this vastly abandoned farmland, while recording the last appearance of the homesteading farm in HSK by people's memory.
