Description

An integrated gifting system that provides self-help tools to assist middle-aged widows in handling bereavement

‘Each person who passes away will leave an average of five grieving persons behind (Krull, 2021).’ Bereavement (喪親), an adversity caused by a mix of emotions and practical crisis that demands instant guidance, has long been a taboo in Asian culture, resulting in people’s lack of knowledge in dealing with losses. Over 90% of Hong Kongers prefer not to seek professional help; bereavement support in Hong Kong is insufficient, and solutions are mostly available in foreign countries. Based on psychological frameworks and tests with stakeholders, a systemic solution involving a mix of media was derived as a complete business model. Gone·Bond benefits caregivers, bereavement-related parties, the general public. It includes: 1. Products that encourage reflection and planning, assisting the bereaved to face difficulties upfront 2. An app for instant emotional guidance and backup support 3. A website for grief education and gift-delivery service We are there for you throughout this journey.
