Description

Inspired by the temporary bamboo structures invading Hong Kong, my project expands on this idea to explore other possible structures providing different functions for citizens. It aims to promote local construction methods and traditions through the development of hybridized bamboo spaces. A catalog of micro-spaces created with bamboo are represented as a step-by-step instruction manual for people to build from used or left-over materials in the city. Possible spatial interventions demonstrating their functions within the environment are illustrated as a potential system for bamboo structures as space makers.
