Description

Our world has entered the information age since the mid-20th century, with the rapid development of technology and the rise of the internet, has led to various changes in people’s lifestyles. Over the last few decades, with mobile devices and internet everywhere, the publication industries are considered a declining industry. Is the value of books and publication underestimated? Is there a need for transformation of books? This report intended to explore how young adults in Hong Kong see and value book-reading and the future of books. This report provides comprehensive studies on the development and possibilities of books from the past to the future, through design and strategic thinking. The four sections in the report: value of books, discovering the past, defining the present and anticipating possible futures, reveal the changes in the ways of reading and the use of mediums and platforms of local young adults, to foresee the next page of reading.
