Description

MIDDLE-MAN is a communication assistant to connect the elderly with their families and others through video chatting. Due to the limitations and disadvantages of video chatting nowadays, it is difficult for the people to communicate with the elderly in a smooth and efficient way. For example, the elderly always wonder whether it is a video played rather than a live video chatting; hard to express the thoughts and receive responses while in video chatting; or dead air when the people don’t know what to say. Conversation suggestion is to understand the sensory status of the elderly and offers advice on the conversation to support elderly’s needs. Common Topics Finder is to complete the interest selection session by the elderly and family to see their common interests. Showing the common topics during the conversation. Idea Suggestions is to suggest the relevant ideas according to the content which the elderly and the family member users are discussing during the conversation.
