Description

This is a narrative project that examines the ‘’dignity’’ of built objects by exploring contingency and change over time. Buildings as artifacts resist their contingency of use at any one time. In the process, an interior’s permanence continuously confronts the impermanence of use, conflict, and transition. • To explore this premise, the project reimagines a watchtower in Kat Hing Wai Village in an animation spanning from 1880 C.E. to 2021 C.E. Through five critical scenarios, the animation shows change and contingency through re-imaging of a single building in five respective eras.
