Reducing over-consumption of beauty products: A Facebook page for working female

Over-consumption of beauty products has become an unwanted condition in our society. Working females who do makeup as a public or work ritual may not be aware of the fact that most of the beauty products are made of chemicals, which endanger both the environment and human health. It is, therefore, crucial to raise public awareness to change the consumer's mindset and behaviour. In order to educate consumers about the negative impacts of beauty products on the natural environment, and ourselves, I employ Facebook as a platform for spreading honest information and messages about selected beauty products. The content on my Facebook page is launched regularly under four perspectives, by considering a) money, b) health, c) environmental problems, and d) environmental protection. It is hoped to persuade our target groups to reduce their desires to purchase beauty products. Reduced purchasing may help to cut down the production of beauty products.

近年女性勞動力增加, 化妝更成為一種公共場合或職場的禮儀。然而，過度使用美容產品已導至不斷悪化的環境問題。似乎大家並未意識到大部份美容產品都是由不同的化學物質製成的，長遠可會危害環境和人類健康。因此，為提高公眾意識，並改變消費者的購買行為和想法，我利用面書（Facebook）這個平台＜女大女世界＞，去傳達有關美容產品的「老實」信息，務使消費者知悉關於它們對環境及自身建康所帶來的影響。降低消費者的購買意欲也許可以減少美容產品的生產。面書內容將分四大方向發報，以金錢，健康，環境傷害及環境保育等角度，試圖說服目標受眾減少購買美容產品。
