Description

Firefighter Suit with Exoskeleton: FIRE-EXO

Fire accidents often happen in our society. In the past few years, there were many severe fire accidents being reported by the news. One of the most serious fires occurred recently was in 2011, which caused 34 injuries and 9 deaths. Regarding this issue, I was inspired to carry out research on designing equipment for firefighters to facilitate their rescue process. I hope that the new design can further reduce the numbers of injuries and deaths in fire accidents in the future.

FIRE-EXO, the new type of firefighter suit with embedded exoskeleton structure, can provide additional assistance and power for firefighters so as to solve the weight problem and enhance their workability in doing different tasks in their rescue process. Other than the basic set, some add-on equipment sets are designed for dealing with specific situations. They can be easily connected to the firefighter suit when necessary.
