Description

Bespoke Interior Tailoring 度身訂造室內空間

From the beginning of the capstone research, I have been focusing on the elements of hospitality (Cella) from Ancient Greece to Modern World. And I tried to define the necessary and excessive elements of the design in hotel rooms to understand the definition of “Luxury”.

Instead of having a standard for furniture and spatial dimensions, I have explored on bespoke quick-adapting interior scales which could be ergonomically suitable to various users. Tailors would use the patterns specifying dimensions, junctions and parts of garments. Adopting the same technique applied to the interiors stream, this project is advocating the essence of “bespoke” integrating into hospitality, the luxury aspect in interiors, ultimately developing a new definition of “Luxury”.

以裁縫的工藝融入室內空間。香港的豪宅往往使用大量昂貴和稀有的石材來包裝，但這是屬於香港的豪宅嗎?

曾經香港以製造業為經濟支柱，養活了很多基層家庭。其中，香港西裝裁縫的工藝更為世界聞名，世界各地的商人，銀行家，甚至是總統，都專乘體驗裁縫精湛的工藝，由選布料，度身，到剪裁，縫針，試身，最後到修改和交貨，每個步驟都是非常專業。

因此在這個設計作品，會以裁縫的工藝和人體工學融入室內的空間，以配合不同類型的客戶的需要，以布料取代其他傢俬細節，創造香港的豪宅。
